Players

Three levels

A player can be kept in up to three places: your roster, a tournament and a category.

Your roster, a tournament and a category: each level holds some of the players of the one before
  • Roster: Players in the account menu. Everyone you have ever entered, for every tournament.

  • Tournament: the players tab in its header. Who takes part in this tournament. Rating and date of birth are copied when a player is added.

  • Category: Manage the players. Who plays in this competition.

Adding players

In a category, Add players searches the tournament and your roster at once.

  • Click a name to add the player. Someone from the roster joins the tournament as well.

  • Type a name nobody has yet, and the search offers to create the player. Create and add to category enters them in the category, the tournament and your roster.

  • The tournament's players page does the same without a category, with Create and add to tournament.

  • In the roster, Add player and then Create add someone to the roster only.

Adding by rule

With a rule, the search shows only who fits, such as every player up to 14.

A category's search with a rule for men up to 14: two matches from the tournament and two from the roster
  • Filter opens the rules: age, rating and gender.

  • Within a rule, everything has to match. Add a rule adds a second one; then either is enough.

  • Show matching players, then add them one at a time, or a whole group with Add all 2.

  • Only who you pick is added.

Duplicate players

Creating someone whose first and last name are already in your roster stops at Is this someone you already have?

The check when creating: T. Krüger is already in the roster with the same name and date of birth
  • Same name and date of birth: almost certainly the same person.

  • Same name, different date of birth: probably someone else.

  • A date of birth missing: no way to tell.

  • Add the existing player instead, or confirm that it's someone new.

Editing and removing

Every level has Edit and a way to take someone out.

  • Remove all players empties a category or a tournament. Drawn phases become undrawn, and their results are deleted.
