Withdrawals
Withdrawing
A player who can no longer play withdraws from the category.
Withdraw is on the player's row in the category's Players tab. In doubles it is on the pair, in the Pairing tab.
The results stay, and the player is left out of every phase drawn from now on.
Matches already drawn go to the opponents as walkovers. Anything half-typed in them is cleared.
Choose how those matches are scored: Full tally — 3:0 at best of 5 or Win only — no games recorded. The tournament's setting is preselected. Then Yes, withdraw.
Withdrawn players are listed, crossed out, under Withdrawn.
In the table
A player who withdraws goes to the bottom of the table.
In a group and in a Swiss system: the last place, however much they won. Everyone below moves up. A grey mark stands beside the name.
In a knockout nothing moves, since the bracket already shows where everyone went out. The next match goes to the opponent as a walkover, including one that is only settled later.
In a Swiss system every new round is paired without them. With an odd number of players there is a bye each round. If there are no longer enough opponents for every round, Telvin offers to shorten the phase.
Two withdrawals in one group
When two players withdraw from the same group, both finish below everyone else. But something has to separate them.
The phase page asks once: Two players have withdrawn from one group.
By how they played each other: whoever won their match is ahead. If they never played each other, whoever withdrew first finishes last.
By when they withdrew: whoever withdrew last is ahead.
By their results: the ordinary tie-break.
Save stores the answer in the tournament's settings, under Withdrawn players, where it can be changed; see Tournament settings.
Reinstating
When someone comes back, reinstate them.
Reinstate is in the Withdrawn list. From then on they are back in every draw.
If the withdrawal handed out walkovers or shortened a Swiss system, Telvin asks first, with two ticks, both on:
Reopen those matches so they can be played
lengthening the shortened phase again, with the number of rounds
Then Yes, reinstate.
Knocked out
A player who lost and has no match left is out.
Players no rule takes on are in the red Not going anywhere yet pill below the phase; see States and warnings. Inside are Add a rule and Eliminate them.
After Eliminate them the pill turns grey: Eliminated. On the Players tab they are then listed under Out.
They keep their results and their place. Nothing is closed or re-scored, and they are left out of every later draw.
Put them back in the diagram, or Put back on the Players tab, undoes it.
