Categories
Adding a category
A category is one competition in the tournament, such as Men A or Under 15, with its own players and phases.
A new tournament asks for its first one straight away: a name, Singles or Doubles, then Add category.
Add more with New category at the end of the list.
As you type, Telvin suggests the names you have used in earlier tournaments.
The list of categories
The list shows each category with its discipline, its number of players and its current phase. Beside the name are at most one state and one warning.
No mark: the current phase is running.
Yellow symbols for players, pairs or a phase: a setup step is still open.
Yellow pause: the current phase can be drawn now.
Grey: not drawn. Green: complete.
Red or orange after it: a warning; see Colours.
↑ and ↓, or dragging, change the order.
Setting up
A new category shows the steps still missing.
Add the players; after that the step reads Manage the players.
Doubles only: Pair the players; see Doubles.
Add the first phase; see Phases.
The highlighted box is the next step.
Name and discipline
Click the category's name to open its panel: the name, Singles or Doubles, then Save changes.
To doubles: everyone stays entered, each waiting for a partner.
To singles: every pair is split, and both players stay in the category on their own.
Duplicating
In the same panel, Duplicate category adds a second category to the tournament, built like this one.
Structure only: the phases and the rules between them, without players.
Structure and players: everyone entered in this category as well.
Then Duplicate.
Duplicate as doubles is for singles only: a new doubles category with the same players, each waiting for a partner. No phases or rules come with it.
Deleting
Delete category, then Yes, delete it.
